પાકિસ્તાને યુદ્ધવિરામનો ભંગ (Pakistan violated the ceasefire) કરીને કેજી સેક્ટરમાં (KG sector) નિયંત્રણ રેખા પાર ભારતીય વિસ્તારમાં ગોળીબાર કર્યા બાદ ભારતીય સૈનિકો અને પાકિસ્તાની સેના વચ્ચે ભારે ગોળીબાર થયો હતો.
ભારતીય સેનાના કૃષ્ણા ઘાટી બ્રિગેડ હેઠળના નાંગી ટેકરી બટાલિયનના ભારતીય સૈનિકોએ પાકિસ્તાની આક્રમણનો જોરદાર જવાબ આપ્યો, જેમાં 5 પાકી સૈનિકો માર્યા ગયા હોવાના અહેવાલ છે.

આ પહેલા ફેબ્રુઆરીમાં, પાકિસ્તાની સેનાએ જમ્મુ અને કાશ્મીરના પૂંછ જિલ્લામાં નિયંત્રણ રેખા (LoC) પર ભારતીય ચોકીઓ પર કોઈ ઉશ્કેરણી વિના ગોળીબાર કરીને યુદ્ધવિરામનું ઉલ્લંઘન કર્યું હતું, જેનો ભારતીય સેનાએ યોગ્ય જવાબ આપ્યો હતો.
